Mandatory School Immunizations? I Think Not!

I recently enrolled my little boy into a specialized program at our local public school and I learned two things:

1. In Illinois, children with developmental delays are eligible to receive free public education as early as age three
2. School counselors frown upon informed parents who challenge ‘mandatory’ policies, like immunization rules.

It is my line of thinking that if lesson #1 was widely known, tons more neighborhood children would be joining my son in class this fall. Furthermore, if lesson #2 was not challenged, the future holds a much larger need for specialized services and early education. As the school counselor slid her pen down my son’s shot records, she blurted ‘August 28, 2005.’ Yeah, August, 2005 was the last time we had our child immunized, and also the last time we were given a ‘worry free’ report from a doctor’s visit.

Aren’t We All Supposed to get Immunized?

Immunizations given at the wrong time or to the wrong person can cause serious damage. Damage that can take years to heal. The mercury used to preserve vaccines is a known poison. Yet, doctors and teachers will have you believe that your children cannot enter school, travel or be a ‘normal’ member of this society if you do not have them injected with these poisons.

Journey from Bubbly to Dazed

My son began speaking at nine months old. He walked at one. Played patty cake, peek-a-boo and made perfect eye contact. Then, shortly after his 18 month shots, he changed. He began to lose words and stopped making eye contact with us. At this point, we found ourselves repeating his name multiple times and had no luck getting his attention. It took a while for me to discover the connection between the immunizations and his state of being.

With epidemic rates of conditions like Autism and ADD, and activist parents blaming doctors and shots for the problem – it’s very easy to join the bandwagon. But, my husband and I did not. Instead, we looked at our child as an individual and determined how to best help what is going on in his body.

We have discovered that he lacks the ability to detoxify the poisonous mercury from the immunizations (in many cases, people can detox enough of it to where they do not NOTICE a problem). His inability to release the poisons combined with a digestive tract infection, made for a very toxic inner environment for a very little boy. His behavior and development are directly affected by what’s going on in his system. He was the wrong candidate for shots. But, how’s a parent supposed to know?

A Parent’s Choice

The most important lesson to learn from this is that you have a choice. By law, we cannot be forced into vaccination. My boy showed no real signs of illness prior to the 18 month shots, so there’s no absolute tell that will let you know you shouldn’t vaccinate. But, if you had a troubled pregnancy or your child has been given multiple courses of antibiotics, this may be a trigger.

You and your children can be tested for metals, like mercury. However, mercury can morph and become part of you, so it isn’t always fully detected. You can also request to receive fewer shots per visit – fewer shots means less mercury and other poisons to detox at one time.

Act to Help our Children

If you know a child who might be affected by mercury poisoning, Autism, ADD, or any digestive or autoimmune disorders like Celiac Disease, you must also know that all of these conditions are interlinked. If you watched Oprah’s special on Autism and were as disappointed as I was when the doctor/mom of two autistic children stated that it’s been proven that immunizations and autism are not connected – take relief knowing that doctors across the country are coming together to bring clarification to this fact.

If you choose to forsake the vaccines altogether – you will need to follow some protocol. If you don’t, you may be charged with horrible things like neglect. Dr. Mercola outlines a very user-friendly ‘how-to’ on legally avoiding shots.

You can legally get shot requirements waived for religious or medical reasons. You must put everything in writing, abiding by your state’s specific codes.

Not Just Hope – Solutions

If you are a parent of a child who has been negatively affected by her vaccinations, there are answers. My son has been thriving on the Body Ecology Diet. He began making eye contact again immediately after we started detoxing him.

These side effects from a toxic world do not have to mean life sentences for our children. Challenge those teachers and doctors if it means the well being of your little ones.
