Skrewtips Exclusive: Californians Get $150 Marijuana Goodies Card

According to an anonymous source, Californians who are in the know can get a $150 card which entitles them to a smorgasbord of marijuana-laced goodies, for the treatment of anything the herb can remedy.

marijuana-rally-by-thivierr.jpgThe card is good for one year. Rolling Stone says that all you need is a script from a marijuana friendly doctor and you’re on the path to natural healing that feels pretty good. Thanks to Proposition 215, state law protects Californians who grow, sell and use marijuana for medicinal purposes. Regulations vary by county. And those purposes go far beyond the death-bed ridden AIDS and Cancer patients. My source gets it for cramps. However, since federal law still refuses to recognize the benefits of legalizing the herb, much of the “doings” are still done on the down-low. Doctors are forced to write prescriptions on blank paper for fear of being traced and shut down, and many of them get funding from growers in order to stay in business.

Call 888-Pot Docs

pot-brownie-by-google.jpgSounds so cheesy, but it’s true. That’s the number to call in order to find a doctor who can prescribe medicinal pot. But, should you call? Do you think that having a more legal, possibly healthier way of obtaining marijuana would benefit any of your ailments? It is being argued that many of these docs are not using discretion when making recommendations; so how do you know your best interest is being considered? California law makers have left the diagnosis completely in the hands of the physician; some have had great success treating depression. And, of course, this amount of control probably prevents overdose. Since, the alternative is usually a chemically produced drug that damages the liver over time; pot is starting to sound like a much safer choice.

The Flip-Side

I found an interesting college paper that makes mention of THC’s steroidal effect on our central nervous systems. This speaks to the loss of short term memory, emotional outbursts, and sensory delay side effects of smoking pot. But, for me, it really solidified the rule of moderation. We can find worse side effects from using sugar. And, some may never benefit from this five-leaved remedy. However, it does grow from our soil and definitely deserves more research and experimentation.

I was amazed at the variety of choices a card holder has: gelato, granola bars, brownies, rice Krispie treats, peanut butter cups and more. not to mention the variety of reasons to prescribe the card and the number of distributors. it’s definitely a business… maybe even a movement. Look for more on this subject from us.

    Thanks for reading

Marijuana is usually a brilliantly effective anti-depressant, but just like pharmaceutical anti-depressants, it’s not always effective, or could potentially have a rebound effect… but even in the face of medical risks, I think people should have the RIGHT to treat themselves without seeking a doctor’s permission slip. What about the poor that can’t afford to pay to get permission? Injecting doctor approval everywhere isn’t a real solution, it’s a short term patch.

How many times have you heard about someone with an ailment doctors misdiagnosed and mistreated? I recently went through a nightmarish situation (unrelated to medical marijuana) in which well over a dozen doctors misdiagnosed my condition (some were brassy enough to tell me I was imagining things), though I’ll admit that no U.S. FDA approved treatments worked anyway. I was lucky enough to be able to tap agricultural products and treatments available in Britain, Australia, and Canada without prescription. I resolved the situation in spite of the ineptitude of accepted medical community. The bottom line is that I don’t want to have to rely on doctors to diagnose or treat me. Current U.S. laws are so heavily influenced by the American Medical Association that congress no longer serves constituents. I want the FREEDOM to treat myself and not just with respect to medical marijuana.
