My son is now a mildly autistic adult. He is doing very well. He was slow to talk and didn't meet my eyes when he was young. I didn't do all those band wagon interventions. I just worked with him to understand himself. It's been and continues to be an interesting adventure. I suppose if I had put him on a special diet, I would claim that the diet did it.

On the other hand, I, also, have a profoundly autistic daughter. I've done everything to help her but she will probably always be profoundly autistic.

You said it all with this, G: If you want to really do something, you must become aware.

So true. So right. We must all seek awareness. And with awareness comes true understanding. You are a walking example. By intimately and intuitively, and most importantly, lovingly locking into your son's condition, you were really able to see the underlying subtleties and bring about powerful solution through alternative remedies, research, and plenty of love and positive thinking.

And that right there is how we overcome ALL disease -- by understanding, not destroying.

Thanks for sharing this powerful and inspirational message :)
