Brushing Your Teeth with Dr. Bronner’s Soap

Brushing Your Teeth with Dr. Bronner’s SoapWould you believe me if I told you that people are brushing their teeth with soap? Well, it’s true. I’ve recently spoken with several people here in California who have told me that they’ve been using Dr. Brooner’s soap to brush their teeth — some of which use it every day!

I was a bit shocked when hearing this, but not too much. Of course I’m familiar with Dr. Bronner’s All in One organic / vegan soap, I’ve been using it for years to wash my hands / showers / and even for my hair at times. It’s great stuff, really.

Today I searched around the net to see if other people have been brushing with the soap; here’s what I found:

Gary” (gary at tubenet.com) writes: “I’ve been brushing my teeth for the last year with dr. bronner’s peppermint. It works great! No gagging. The secret is to use just enough of the soap. Don’t use a lot, just a ‘tad’ - it helps to water it down 50% first (in the container). That’s what I do for bathing too. Happy cleaning!”

“Yay soap. A little bit goes a long way, and you can use it for anything, from washing cloths to brushing teeth. Try the peppermint.”

KATHLEEN

“At first, I felt a little awkward using the same soap to wash my hair and brush my teeth. However, it works and smells minty fresh! Beware curiosity may take hold of you and cause you to test this soap for all of its said uses.”

SAMANTHA

Well, I haven’t tried it yet… but I’m going to one of these days. I’ve been living out in the woods for the past few weeks, so it’ll come in handy when I’m not in town! Let’s just hope that I don’t have a soapy mouth for the rest of the day.
