The most essential nutrient for the human body is Oxygen. It promotes a better quality of life. Oxygen is used throughout the body to energize and protect our existence. There are various ways to insure a high intake of oxygen; and in doing so, prevent illness and revitalize the body.
Did you know that no viruses or germs can survive in an oxygen rich environment? This is a very empowering fact that can direct us on the path to eliminating illnesses and restoring health. We can begin by incorporating practices and habits that will boost our oxygen levels.
Stay Clear of ‘Oxygen Robbers’
Staying clear of oxygen robbers, like smoking and alcohol, is a must. Also, hydrogenated oils cause our blood to thicken, which lowers oxygen levels. Overeating and bad food combining have adverse effects as well.
“Toxins in the body from overeating, poor food combining and the uric acid of excessive meat eating use up oxygen reserves when the wastes associated with these poor nutritional practices are metabolized.” – Healing With Whole Foods
Include nutrients that help with the intake of oxygen. Geranium is a trace element that assists in the assimilation of oxygen into the system. It is used in various cancer treatments, as cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygen rich environment. The foods that contain geranium are certain specialty mushrooms (such as Shiitake), garlic, barley, ginseng and chlorella micro-algae.
Essential Fatty Acids
Essential fatty acids regulate oxygen assimilation on a cellular level. “Without essential fatty acids, cell oxygenation becomes far less efficient. Less efficient cell oxygenation means less energy.” Unrefined oils are a great source of essential fatty acids such as Flax seed oil, Evening Primrose oil and also the seeds and oils of sunflower and pumpkin seeds.
Stress Affects Intake of Oxygen
In regards to our cells, another key influence to adequate intake of oxygen is our stress levels. Stress affects us on a cellular level and can often thwart all other efforts.
“When a cell goes into lockdown, fight or flight mode, that cell is not getting oxygen, not absorbing nutrients, not properly eliminating waste products, and not functioning the way it normally should. If the cell remains in that state for a short period of time, the effects are inconsequential. That is why a small amount of stress in life rarely leads to health problems. But if the cell stays in the closed, fight or flight mode for an extended period of time, it becomes a sick cell. The main reason for this is a lack of oxygen. When you choose to remain in a stressful situation or a stressed out state of mind, that’s equivalent of suffocating your body and depriving it of the nutrient it needs most to survive.” – The Biology of Belief
A positive outlook on life goes a long way towards managing stress in life. It can also empower us to remove ourselves from stressful situations and environments. As we learn to navigate through life with less stress, longevity is the reward.
Exercise Regularly for Oxygenated Blood
Regular exercise provides oxygen for our lungs and muscles and also oxygenates our blood. Oxygenated blood is transported to our organs and tissues, which assist in vital life functions. There are some forms of exercise, like Yoga and Pilates, which combine movement with deep breathing and provide a relaxing, strengthening boost. If we are planning to live to a ripe old age, it is going to have to be an active journey.
Oxygenated Water
Oxygenated water is yet another way to enrich the body with oxygen by bathing in oxygenated water and/or drinking it. It produces an oxygen rich environment in our body which destroys germs, viruses, and bad bacteria that feed degenerative conditions. It provides direct energy and vitality.
Various products and therapies are available that are designed to oxygenate the body. In one such therapy, the essential element, Ozone, is used in a water ozonater machine which releases the oxygen from the Ozone to purify the water. When you drink this water and bathe in it, it heals and energizes your system.
Another therapy uses Food-grade 35% Hydrogen Peroxide, either added to distilled water (In specific amounts) in a bath, for an oxygen treatment that enters your pores, or diluted and added to drinking water to procure the healing effects. Several doctors, especially in Europe, have procured success with and documented these treatments. However, these are not therapies you do on your own; they require supervision by a trained healthcare provider.
These are all practices and therapies that are within reach and able to be incorporated into our lifestyle for improved health. Improving our oxygen intake is a completely logical and biologically sound way to safeguard our health and rejuvenate our lives.
