Have you considered changing something in you life for good and starting to live in a more healthy way? It might be a bit of a struggle at first till you get used to, but when it starts to show positive results, you won’t imagine you hadn’t tried and done it before.
There are many ways to switch to green and live a more healthy life, and one of the things you can start with is using natural products and methods in cleaning. Here are some tips on how to start green cleaning and make the first step to living a better and healthier life:
Clean Air
Let’s start with the very first and also quite necessary thing – fresh air. It’s very important to breathe fresh air, therefore it’s good to open the windows at least a few times a day and let fresh air in – especially when waking up and before going to bed.
Clean Your Bathtub
If you want to go green, you can clean your bathtub using grapefruit and salt. Sprinkle salt and scrub the tub with the grapefruit. Then rinse and you’re done.
Clean Grout
Grout is white, therefore easier to get dirty. Try to clean it with baking soda and vinegar. Use the substance and a brush to clean grout.
You can also use baking soda and vinegar to clean a burnt pan.
Oven Cleaning
If you don’t want to use chemicals for tough greasy stains on an oven, then use a paste of baking soda and water. Apply the paste, leave it there for a few hours and then wipe it. You will be amazed how good the result will be.
Soap Scum
If you’re tired of all this soap scum on your shower, use a mixture of baking soda, salt and borax to get rid of it.
Surfaces, Floors and Windows
Three of the main things to clean in your house can be easily cleaned using natural products. Use citrus peels and vinegar to do it. Put them in a jar and let them stay for a few days.
Clean the Dishwasher
If you want to clean your dishwasher without any effort, put 2 cups of vinegar in a dishwasher jar and no other dishes in it. This method will help you get rid of the bad smell in a natural way.
Clean the Trash Bin
Use baking soda and vinegar or water to clean the trash bin. After it’s cleaned, it’s a good idea to put some lemon peels in the trash in order to keep it fresh and to avoid bad odor coming out of it.
Clean the Toilet
Throw a cup of baking soda in the toilet and let it sit there for about an hour or so. Then pour a cup of vinegar and let it be there for five minutes. Flush. In case the toilet is not very dirty, scrubbing won’t be necessary.
Clean Silver
To green clean silver, you should use baking soda, water and aluminium foil. Put all of these into a pan and boil them. Put your silver into the pan too and leave it there for 10 seconds. If the silver is very tarnished, it might take longer than that.
In the Sun
Are there stains from food on your plastic food containers? Rub the stains with lemon and put them in the sun to dry. Then wash it.
There are many reasons and ways to begin living greener. Green cleaning with natural products will save you from all the chemical products that you don’t really know much about. Try our tips and turn the green light on!
