There are some foods you should quit cold turkey today. Your body works hard to keep you alive. Don’t make its job harder by feeding useless garbage into its systems. Think twice before you eat some foods but for others don’t think at all — just avoid them entirely!
Crops with Roundup Ready plants can be sprayed with Roundup Herbicide and not kill Genetically Modified plants. Sounds too good to a farmer that struggles with weeds. The problem is what really happens. Roundup, the herbicide, has apparently been linked to birth defects and reportedly banned from use in provincial areas in Argentina where GM soy is grown.
Some people are absolutely and vehemently against the production/consumption of GMO’s and others seem to wholeheartedly support them. But at the end of the day, most people have no idea what “Genetically Modified” means, having no impact on their buying habits at all.
I learned that sticker labels (produce codes) on fruits actually tell you how the fruits have been grown — whether they were organically grown or conventionally grown with pesticides and herbicides; oh, and let’s not forget about the genetically engineered fruits.
So the real question is: is soy bad for you? Soy is loaded with trypsin inhibitors that prevent proper protein digestion; goitrogen which inhibits thyroid function; phytic acid, a fiber that impairs absorption of minerals; and phytoestrogens which dangerously increase the estrogen hormone.
Genetically modified food uses modern biotechnology or ‘gene technology’, which is also called as Genetic engineering, which allows selected individual genes to be transferred from one plant species to the other and then used to grow GM plants and food crops.
