Each one of us wants to feel good about ourselves – that includes being healthy in the body and peaceful in the mind. In order to achieve the same, we need to take some basic steps to make our lives meaningful and happy. Here are a few suggestions for reaching this goal:
1. Break Out of Routines
Mix things up for once. The more you adhere to routines, the more mechanical and rigid you become. If you act like a rock, you’re absolutely going to become cold, hard, stiff, and sick.
Most people wonder why they get sick 10+ times per year without stopping to think about their super busy and monotonous routines. Wake up, work my a** off all day, come home and complain, go to sleep, then do it again—365! Nah, spice things up in your life. Learn new things. Take time for yourself. Do something EXTRA-ordinary. This will help keep your spirit, as well as your health in fine order.
2. Breathe Deeply
Would you believe me if I told you that you’ve probably been breathing improperly your entire life?
Well, it’s true. Go outside and get some fresh air each day. Through your nose, take in a deep and slow breath. Start to fill the bottom of your stomach up, then move to your mid-section, then to your upper-chest. Now, hold it in for a few seconds. Then, through the nose again, exhale with force….trying to squeeze every bit of air out of your entire body. This is a way to remove stale and stagnant air and re-oxygenate your entire system. Practice this daily—outside.
3. Become One with Nature
The healthiest peoples in the world have always been the ones most connected to the Earth. It isn’t rocket science—it’s the Law of Nature. And those that obey the law will be blessed with health and good energy. Respect all forms of life and, in turn, you will be blessed. Disrespect the Earth, which really means to disrespect yourself, and you will be sick, sad, and living a life of despair.
4. Party Hard!
Now I’m not saying go out and get drunk every night…surely, that’s not healthy. But go out and have fun from time to time. Let loose and have some fun with friends. This is great for your immune system. Drink a bit. I believe that if you do things in moderation, you’ll actually be improving your immune system.
The immune system needs to be put to the test from time to time in order to “muscle-up.” If you try to be too clean, too safe, too cautious, and too serious about remaining healthy….then you’re going to get sick with all the worry and seriousness.
5. Meditate
Through meditation, you can heal yourself from any disease. Meditation is at the core of a healthy mind, body, and spirit. If you can learn how to incorporate meditation into your life daily — time to remain in silence and allow thoughts to pass through you without holding onto them — your immune system will become fortified from disease. The spirit is behind ALL. If the spirit is healthy, then your body will be healthy.
Try out these tips. You won’t regret it, I promise!
